A man who took a drug that contained sildenafil to treat his erectile dysfunction told the court he had been prescribed the drug by the maker of another drug, which he thought was Viagra.
The man, who was taking the drug for five years, told the court he had been prescribed it by his GP after getting an erection last summer.
He said he thought he had suffered erectile dysfunction for a while because of the drug but was given Viagra to treat it.
He said: "He was a very good man. He had not had erectile dysfunction and he had no problem with his sexual function.
"He was also very good at thinking of going to see his GP and talking to him.
"He also had a very good sex life, and he was very happy and was very fit and was a good man. The court was quite shocked."
A court spokeswoman said: "There is no evidence that he was taking the drug or that he had problems with his sexual function. The product was being supplied by a registered pharmacy and supplied by an online pharmacy. The pharmacy had a legitimate function in that they could give the drug a proper dosage and not take it without the advice of a doctor.
